Council History

The Knights of Columbus is a catholic organization of men, founded in 1882, that truly makes a difference through five key areas of service – faith, community, family, youth, and fellowship. The Bishop Louis J. Reicher Council 9151 was chartered November 22, 1985. Members (34 brother Knights) came from Wimberley and Dripping Springs. Mr. J.J. Ryan was selected as the first Grand Knight.

Through the past two decades, Council 9151 has contributed substantially to various charities and youth groups (about $12,000 in the past year); worked with

  • Pro Life groups,

  • St. Vincent de Paul Society,

  • Crisis Bread Basket,

  • Lions Club,

  • Wimberley EMS

  • and many others

We provide assistance, funding and materials to many many church activities, festivals, and fundraisers.

  • We sponsor family and youth activities.

  • During the 2022-2023 academic year, we will provide scholarship assistance to 13 students.
